Welcome! {My first post!}

Good morning and happy Sunday!

I'm a new mommy and I decided to create this blog to write about the various things I try to accomplish "when the baby naps."

I am very lucky because my little Jakey (who is almost 6 months) is happy, healthy, and a great sleeper (knock on wood)! He is always smiling and laughing and he is the light of my life! I can't imagine my life before him! I can already tell he has a wonderful soul and my husband and I are so blessed.

But, having my baby Jacob has been a game changer. Going from working full time as an elementary school teacher to a stay a home mom has been a huge adjustment. I am fortunate enough to be able to stay home with my beautiful baby boy and I love every minute of it; however, I didn't realize how much work motherhood actually encompasses.

Now, don't get me wrong. I know moms work hard. Especially mom who worked full time and had us girls. But, man oh man! What a wake up call! Babies are hard work.

The first three months I would have to say were the hardest. Trying to figure out a new human being and their personality is rough...made even worse by the lack of sleep!

Trying to take care of a new human and keep up with daily life responsibilities is a balancing act. Even the simple things of taking care of yourself are difficult. You don't appreciate being able to blow dry your hair in a peaceful setting until you can't anymore!

They always say, sleep when the baby sleeps! Yea right! There's laundry, cleaning, organizing, SHOWERING, and maybe brushing your teeth! Being a new mom also brought me a lot of guilt and anxiety. I felt badly about trying to get things done when the baby was sleeping or being quiet. I felt like I constantly had to be around my baby and I couldn't seem to get much done. But once I got a schedule down and he actually started napping consistently, I was able to accomplish things...little by little.

So here I am, while he's napping...to show you some of the things I try to get done when he's down for a few minutes!

I hope you enjoy reading my posts!

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Marine
